We are inviting young composers to participate in the LCMS Young Composers’ Competition!
Composers will have the opportunity to work with the Rose Gellert String Quartet and professional musicians during a workshop in which their pieces will be performed and critiqued by the musicians and a jury of three prominent composers. Winning works will receive cash awards and a public performance.
Composers must be present for the workshop.
Leonard Woods Memorial Awards will be awarded to the winners in each category (cash awards): Junior $200, Senior $300, College/University $500. Winning works will receive a public performance by the Rose Gellert String Quartet at a date to be determined, depending on COVID restrictions.
