LCMS Chamber Music


The wonderful repertoire, intense listening and close teamwork involved in playing chamber music make it a rewarding pursuit for any musician. Various instruments are grouped together to form ensembles. Students not enrolled in private lessons at LCMS are most welcome to join our Chamber Music Program; please contact the Registrar at 604-534-2848 or info@langleymusic.com to find the right match for you.

Overture to Chamber Music with the Rose Gellert String Quartet

This program is open to strings students interested in beginning or continuing their chamber experiences. Ability to read music required.
Practices include chamber coaching plus a large ensemble rehearsal.

Annual Chamber Music Program

All students taking part in Term 1 or 2 Chamber music must audition each year for group placement. Students from string programs outside of the school are welcome to register and are required to audition to determine placement in the appropriate level. The MI/Chamber Music Kick-off Meeting will take place September 19, 2025.

Term 1 Chamber Music

Term 1 starts the week of October 20, and includes an intensive chamber camp in from November 9-11. All Term 1 students must participate in the camp. Term 1 concludes with a concert on November 11.

Term 2 Chamber Music

Term 2 starts the week of February 23 and includes an intensive chamber camp at RockRidge Canyon Resort in Princeton, BC from March 15 – 17 2025. All Term 2 students must participate in the camp. Term 2 concludes with a concert March 17, 2025.

Duos/Sonatas

This program provides an opportunity for students to develop collaboration and musicianship skills through an exploration of duo and sonata repertoire. Students studying their chamber music instrument outside of the school are welcome to register and are required to audition.
