Listen, Learn, and Play at Langley Community Music School’s Spring Open House
Langley Community Music School (LCMS) welcomes people of all ages to their annual Spring Community Day Open House on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a special master class at 2:30 p.m.
Come and enjoy some refreshments, hotdogs and popcorn. Listen to our talented student soloists and chamber groups. Enjoy performances from the school’s Children’s Choir, Harp Ensemble, String Ensembles and our early learning classes. Meet the teachers, tour the facility, and learn about Langley Community Music School programs and classes. LCMS has something for everyone, from early learning and general music programs, to private lessons and ensembles at any age.
Following the main event is free special master class at 2:30 p.m. with master teacher and renowned pianist Henri-Paul Sicsic (www.henripaulsicsic.com). This class is open to the viewing public as well as interested piano students from the community. Whether you are an observer or a student, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable musical insights from a master. A limited number of performance places are currently available. Selected students should be playing at Royal Conservatory Grade 10 or ARCT level.
“We invite new students of all ages to take advantage of this wonderful community resource, and to receive the highest quality music education from our professional faculty,” says LCMS principal Susan Magnusson. “Whether they are serious musicians or wanting to study recreationally, we will work with them to meet their personal goals.”
Langley Community Music School will be accepting registrations for the Fall 2015 semester during the open house event. As space is limited in these programs, LCMS encourages people to register as soon as possible.
Guests are also invited to sign up to receive notifications of the school’s renowned concerts and events, which feature stellar local, national and international artists throughout the year in the school’s Rose Gellert Hall.
No registration is necessary to attend the Open House, however, registration to play in the Master Class is required. To register, contact LCMS at 604-534-2848.
