New! Cascade Peaks ChamberFest: Academy & Festival

Langley Community Music School (LCMS) is extremely proud to present Cascade Peaks ChamberFest Academy & Festival (CPCF), which launches this summer, June 18-24, 2024.

CPCF expands on the scope of the programs offered by LCMS to offer a world-class music Academy & Festival of the highest quality, with guidance from internationally renowned artists.

We are thrilled to have some of Canada’s most renowned and internationally recognized musicians at the Festival. Students will work with acclaimed artists Jonathan Crow (violin), Roman Borys (cello), Brad Turner (piano & trumpet), Marcel Bergmann (composition), Libby Yu (piano),  James Campbell (clarinet/winds) and CPCF’s resident ensemble, the Borealis String Quartet with CPCF’s Artistic Director Yuel Yawney (violin), Patricia Shih (violin), Nikita Pogrebnoy (viola), and Sungyong Lim (cello).

Programs

CPCF features programs of instruction, mentorship, and performance opportunities:

EMERGING ARTIST PROGRAM (June 18–23)
For string players and pianists beginning their professional careers

RESIDENCY PROGRAM (June 18-23)
Individual program for young professional artists and composers aged 18-35 years old

COMMUNITY AMATEUR PROGRAM (June 21–24)
For enthusiastic adult amateur musicians

All Academy & Festival events are situated in the beautiful natural surroundings of RockRidge Canyon, a stimulating setting for musical collaboration and intensive learning.
