Free Open Rehearsal with the Turning Point Ensemble and the Bergmann Duo
Join the Turning Point Ensemble and Bergmann Piano Duo in an open rehearsal to workshop a new arrangement of LCMS Composer-in-Residence Marcel Bergmann’s “Concerto for Two Pianos.”
Everyone is welcome, no registration is necessary, and admission is free!
This special event is in preparation for upcoming premiere performances taking place in November, and is a rare and exciting opportunity to witness the creative process in action. The work will be performed on Saturday, November 23 at 7:30pm in LCMS’ final 50th anniversary concert A Canadian Celebration. Featuring the Turning Point Ensemble, Bergmann Piano Duo and Borealis String Quartet, this concert celebrates LCMS’ extraordinary history of support for the creation and performance of new Canadian music. In addition to Bergmann’s Concerto, the evening will feature works commissioned by LCMS throughout its past 50 years – including the world premiere of a new work for string quartet by Juno-award winning LCMS alumnus Brad Turner!
Bergmann’s “Concerto for Two Pianos” will also be presented in two other concerts with the Turning Point Ensemble on November 22 (White Rock) and November 24 (Vancouver). For more information about these other performances please visit the Turning Point Ensemble website.
