Student recital, pianist Julie Wu

You are invited to a recital by young pianist Julie Wu on January 23, 2016 at 2:00pm in Rose Gellert Hall.

Already a veteran of the stage at 12 years old, the Surrey resident has performed twice in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. These performances came as the result of being a 1st place winner of the 2014 American Protégé International Competition, and a gold medalist at the International Young Musicians Festival “Passion of Music 2013”. Other notable results include gold medal winner at the 2015 Chinese Golden Bell music competition National Finals in China, and BC National Finalist in the 2013 Canadian Music Competition. Julie Wu studies at Langley Community Music School with internationally renowned concert pianist and teacher Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic.

Julie is giving the recital in preparation for playing in one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for young pianists, the Gina Bachauer International Junior Piano Competition. The first round of the competition takes place in Salt Lake City February 6-8.
