LCMS 2014-15 CONCERT SEASON ANNOUNCED WITH HEADLINERS THE DOVER QUARTET, QUARTETTO GELATO, THE BERGMANN PIANO DUO AND MUCH MORE

LANGLEY, BC – Langley Community Music School (LCMS) is pleased to announce its 2014-2015 concert series’ with headliners The Dover Quartet, Quartetto Gelato, tThe Bergmann Piano Duo, and much more.
“We have a super exciting concert season in store for Langley audience members. As always, LCMS is presenting a huge variety of repertoire, spanning from Beethoven string quartets and violin sonatas to gypsy music and well known monumental pieces such as ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’,” says Elizabeth Bergmann, artistic director concerts for LCMS. “And, we are lucky to have international artists on tour in BC coming to our stage.”
The Rose Gellert Hall series opens with The Dover Quartet, first prizewinners of the 2013 Banff International String Quartet competition, on October 17, 2014. They are Ffollowed by the extraordinary violin and piano partnership of Kai Gleusteen and Catherine Ordonneau, a husband and wife violin and piano duo who live in Barcelona. The duo is here on January 31, 2015 to perform Beethoven violin sonatas.
The Rose Gellert Hall series continues with the ecclectic and blazingbly brilliant the Quartetto Gelato on February 28, 2015. The final concert of the series takes place on May 22, 2015 with LCMS’ own The Bergmann Piano Duo, kicking it up a notch with joined by VSO percussionists Vern Griffiths and Aaron MacDonald. Rose Gellert Hall series performances begin at 7:30 pm.
“To end the season, Marcel and I will be joined by the two fantastic principal percussionists of the VSO to perform works for 2two pianos and percussion,” adds Bergmann.
The Concerts Café Classico season begins with Duo Concertante on October 5, 2014. The passionate husband and wife team and professors at Memorial University in St. John’s Newfoundland, Nancy Dahn and Timothy Steeves, will performing works for violin and piano.
Dutch pianist Jeroen Van Veen takes the stage on November 16, 2014, with a mesmerizing performance titled The Netherlands. Next up is an LCMS Alumni Concert with Paul Hung, flute, Bogdan Dulu, piano on January 18, 2015.
The series continues on March 8, 2015 with Trio Accord, one of Canada’s premier chamber ensembles. West Coast Chamber Players perform on April 19, 2015, presenting to perform works by Chaminade and Beethoven. Finally, the series closes with a Night Café Classico featuringwith Joe Trio, not your average piano trio, on May 1, 2015.
Concerts Café Classico performances start with Coffee and Commentary at 2:30 pm, followed by the concert at 3:30 pm. Night Café on May 1, 2015 begins with Coffee and Commentary at 7:00 pm, with the concert starting at 8:00 pm.
Concerts Café Classico is LCMS’ educational series that includes a pre-concert chat and refreshments before each 60-minute concert program. The Rose Gellert Hall series is LCMS’ premier evening concert series, featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.
Season subscriptions are available at 15 per cent off regular ticket prices. Rose Gellert Hall subscriptions are $82 adults, $73 seniors, and $58 students. Regular tickets range from $22-$30 adults, $20-$25 seniors, and $16-$20 students. Concerts Café Classico subscriptions are available for $77 adults, $67 seniors, and $51 students. A Concerts Café Classico flex pass is also available that gives access to any four concerts for $54 adults and $47 seniors. Regular tickets are available for $15 adults, $13 seniors and $10 students.
