Long-standing concert society, West Coast Chamber Music, is pleased to present Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E Minor, a work of great power and intensity. This piece is coupled with Canadian composer Heather Schmidt’s evocative Lunar Reflections for piano trio depicting various full moons: Blue Moon, Pink Moon, Wolf Moon, Snow Moon and Thunder Moon.
Pianists and LCMS faculty members Alan Crane and Holly Duff will be joined by cellist Rebecca Wenham and violinist Angela Cavados for this performance.
This concert will be performed to a small audience in the Rose Gellert Hall, with every measure taken to ensure a safe, socially distanced environment. The concert will be approximately 60 min, with no intermission.

About West Coast Chamber Music
Founded in 1993, West Coast Chamber Music is a highly regarded concert society based in the lower mainland, featuring some of the best freelance musicians of the west coast. They present a concert series at their home venue, the Unitarian Church of Vancouver, as well various community concerts in the region. Programming is mixed with music ranging from the 18th Century to the present day, with special championing of Canadian works and music by women composers. Holly Duff and Alan Crane are founding directors and pianists with West Coast Chamber Music and are well respected teachers and adjudicators. Violinist, Angela Cavadas is a commanding performer well known for her rich tone and intensity and has been the primary violinist with WCCM almost since inception; Cellist Rebecca Wenham has joined WCCM in recent years, bringing a passionate expressivity to the ensemble. Angela is the concert master of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, where Rebecca sits as principal cellist. Both perform regularly with the VSO and numerous other groups across the lower mainland.
