The McKenna Quintet is a vibrant young a cappella and string ensemble comprised of siblings, Minja, Matthew, Michael, Markus, and Marja. They have been fortunate to travel and participate in events throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe. They have studied music at such venues as the Prague National Theatre and the New York University Prague campus – and most recently, at the Langley Community Music School.
Consistently praised for their performances, the McKenna Quintet receives warm reviews from musicians and audiences alike. They have a habit of tugging at strings, whether it be on their instruments or the hearts of their listeners. They are thankful for the gift of music and see it as an intensely powerful influence for beauty and goodness. As their journey unfolds, the McKenna Quintet invites you to share it with them.
Their performance will include works by Mozart, Boccherini, and an a cappella folk song.
