LCMS Launches The Bistro Music Talks

With the popularity of Langley Community Music School’s (LCMS) Café Classico pre-concert conversations with Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann, LCMS now introduces The Bistro with Marcel Bergmann. Casual, interactive, and enlightening, The Bistro is an opportunity to join a conversation on a wide range of musical topics. Talks are open to the general public, as well as parents and students of LCMS — free of charge.

There will be five Bistro talks throughout the 2015-2016 school year. The first event is entitled “Sound Information: Recording versus Live Performance” and will take place on Tuesday September 29, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm in an area of the LCMS lobby designated as The Bistro.

Bistro host, Marcel Bergmann says, “This first talk will cover some of the key differences between recording and performing. It will explore how the culture and popularity of ‘acoustic conservation’ has changed the reality and realm of live concerts and performing-at-large.”

Future Bistros are scheduled for November 12, 2015, January 20, February 18, and April 12, 2016. Topics will vary throughout the year, with the next November event already set to explore “Music and Nature.”

More information on these events will be posted on the LCMS website at www.langleymusic.com. There is no charge for these events. The Bistro is located in the lobby of Langley Community Music School at 4899 207 Street, Langley, BC.
