Laura Hough began her early violin studies with the renowned pedagogue Dr. Lise Elson in her native Calgary. She earned a BMus from UBC with Gerald Stanick and a MMus from Indiana University with Henryk Kowalski. She has played with the Calgary Philharmonic, the Kensington Sinfonia, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Touring Orchestra. For 15 years, Laura has held positions with both the Winnipeg Symphony and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and has recorded regularly on CBC with both organizations. An active adjudicator and educator, Laura has taught at the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Conservatory of Music. An avid chamber musician, she has been featured in concert series throughout the United States and Canada.
