From singing in the church choir at age 7 to studying Vocal Jazz Performance at Capilano University, Alisia has had a very diverse musical journey. A native of Langley, BC, Alisia is a well-versed Singer/Songwriter, Session Singer and Contemporary Vocal Coach based here in the Lower Mainland.
Throughout her career, Alisia has had the great fortune to work with many of the Music Industry’s finest including Dave Pierce, Bob Rock, Richie Sambora, Jann Arden, Jim Byrnes, Brad Turner, Jodi Proznick, Jimmy D. Lane, Miles Ramsay, Dee Daniels, Dal Richards, Salome Bay, Corlynn Hanney, Jillian Lebeck, Bria Skonberg and Bob McGrath to The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, The Vancouver Youth Orchestra, and The Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra, as well as many other stellar musicians from Canada and around the world. Alisia has also been a member of many vocal performing groups and ensembles throughout her career all based out of the Greater Vancouver area, some including Profusio, Nite Cap, BCMEA ensembles, and currently Original Blues Band the LazerKatz.
Alisia’s original recordings have been played on Indie radio stations in Europe and in the USA and her original song ‘Always Be There For You’ won Best Songwriter in the Best of BC competition put on by the BC Country Music Association. She has won vocal competitions here in Canada and in the USA and has appeared on various television and radio programs including The Vicki Gabereau Show, CBC Spotlight on Vancouver, Shaw Cable and KAPS 660 radio out of Washington State.
Alisia’s ear for improvisation and soulful sound blur the lines between musical genres. Along with her 4 octave plus vocal range, her smooth, warm tone lends itself as well to ballads as her creative approach to melody does to the importance of a lyric.
