Submission deadline: March 1, 2021
We are inviting young composers to participate in the LCMS Young Composers’ Competition.
Composers will have the opportunity to work with the Rose Gellert String Quartet during a live virtual workshop (Zoom) from our Rose Gellert Hall, in which their pieces will be performed and critiqued by the ensemble and a jury of prominent composers. The composers will join in to the workshop remotely.
Composers must be present for the virtual workshop.
Leonard Woods Memorial Awards will be awarded to the winners in each category (cash awards): Junior $200, Senior $300, College/University $500. Winning works will receive a public performance by the Rose Gellert String Quartet at a date to be determined, depending on COVID restrictions.
