LCMS is pleased to present Locomotif, an afternoon of live music with our Resident Ensemble, the Rose Gellert String Quartet, based around the ideas of travel. Antonín Dvořák’s American Quartet will form the centrepiece with additional, arranged works that revolve around various modes of transportation.
The concert will open with an informal conversation between LCMS’ Artistic Director Elizabeth Bergmann and the artists. The concert will be performed to a small audience in the Rose Gellert Hall in a physically distanced environment and will last approximately 60 minutes, with no intermission and no refreshments served.
Tickets will not be available at the door. To enable us to make a custom seating plan, please let us know the full name(s) of yourself and any household members/bubble at the time of ordering. Please note that all attendees will receive further instructions regarding seating, arrival procedures and other COVID-19 safety protocols ahead of the concert.

About the Rose Gellert String Quartet
Established in 2016, the Rose Gellert String Quartet is ensemble in residence at LCMS, and has given performances as part of LCMS’ concert series as well as throughout the Fraser Valley. Founding members Will Chen and Llowyn Ball (violin), Peter Ing (viola), and Ben Goheen (cello) are all active musicians, teachers, and music coaches throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Through their LCMS residency, the Quartet has a mandate to create and foster community, as well as a deeper appreciation of music – a mandate they are proud to fulfill through their many outreach concerts at local schools and seniors’ facilities.
