Free Children’s Concert at Upcoming Langley Community Music School Open House
Whether you are young or old, you are invited to attend Langley Community Music School’s (LCMS) annual Spring Community Day Open House on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The afternoon will feature the school’s third free children’s concert, with the Rose Gellert String Quartet (RGSQ) performing “Sound Tracks Live” at 1:00 p.m., a concert that will include music from screens large and small, as well as some classical favourites.
Rose Gellert String Quartet member Peter Ing says, “We will be playing a number of popular music and movie themes, and exploring their musical origins in some of the classical greats. It will be very interactive, with the young audience invited to ‘guess that tune.’ It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
The Open House is a great opportunity to tour the facility, meet the teachers, and learn about classes. Langley Community Music School is world-renowned for their top caliber music programs for children and adults, ranging from early learning and traditional classical instruments to general music programs, jazz and popular music. The school’s Rose Gellert Hall is also an important cultural venue for the community, attracting professional performers from across the globe. A non-profit school and registered charity, the school is grateful for the support it receives from the community. As part of this special day, the school will be holding a fundraising plant sale, with proceeds going to the support of LCMS programs.
“We invite everyone in the community to come to our Open House and learn more about our programs for all ages,” says LCMS principal Susan Magnusson. “We are home to some of the most talented and highly qualified faculty and attract students from across the region and internationally.”
Langley Community Music School will be accepting registrations for the Fall 2018 semester during the open house event. Summer Camps are also available. As space is limited in these programs, LCMS encourages people to register as soon as possible. No registration is necessary to attend the Open House and featured concert. Langley Community Music School is located at 4899 207 Street, Langley, BC.
