ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Canada Summer Jobs) Position Available
Langley Community Music School (LCMS) is a centre of excellence in music education. A non-profit charitable organization founded in 1969, the school is recognized for its comprehensive and innovative programming for students of all ages and levels. The organization is also a presenter of concerts to the community, with two concert series featuring local, national and international artists, and a 250-seat recital hall.
LCMS is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the summer. The Administrative Assistant will have the opportunity to gain experience in a non-profit work environment through assisting with activity and event coordination, and assisting with marketing of summer and fall educational programs, concerts and special events. The position is full time (35 hrs/week) for 8 weeks, starting June 12, 2026, and is 100% in-person. The position is made possible through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) funding, and applicants must meet CSJ requirements.
Duties include:
- Assisting with summer program activity coordination for music day camps
- Assisting with the processing of student registrations, including data entry
- Assisting with the production of digital and print marketing and program materials
- Assisting with the promotion of programs, concerts and events through social media and online listings
- Assisting with general reception and office duties
- Assisting with the organization, digitization and storage of archival and annual records
Qualifications
- Customer service oriented, with strong written/verbal communications skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Some graphic design skills desirable
- Previous work or volunteer experience with non-profit organizations or the arts an asset
- Previous work experience in a professional office environment, in a customer facing role, and with data entry, an asset
- Knowledge of music and interest in the arts an asset
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. The successful applicant must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act), and in accordance with BC provincial legislation and regulations
- Commit to the full duration of the work assignment for the 8-week period
- Provide a current Criminal Records Check

$20/hr
